Just got this bad boy detailed, and felt the need to share. It honestly looks better than when I got it from the dealer. Gonna take it out for a few spins then put it back in the garage and try to duck the rain this week.
No GT86/FR-S/BR-Z hating in here, please. I'm in a happy place, today. That is all.

I gave my '13 Firestorm its first clay bar and wax treatment over the 4th of July weekend, it looked so purtty. Need to do it again before too long.
Car is looking great btw!

I haven't seen much hate for them on Oppo.
I thought the general opinion was that they are good cars.
Looks nice.

Thanks. I've never done the clay bar, but I've been meaning to give it a try. Is it worth it?

There are some haters here, but that could be said for pretty much any car.

Definitely. Helps get a lot of the small blemishes and crap off the car before waxing. The car felt so smooth afterwards. For a week after I couldn't help but run my fingers along the rear quarter panel up to the door every time I walked to and got in my car. lol

Generally, but it seems like it's divided into two camps that can't agree if it has enough power or not. I'm in the third camp of 'who cares?'

Thanks. I was jealous at first that the GT86 boys get those short spoilers stock, but I'm glad now, because I love my ducktail even more.

Looks great! Any idea what products/methods they used?
I put my FR-S into a ditch at ORP last weekend :(
Now I've got to figure out how to remove a bunch of scratches on the passenger side from the local flora less than gently massaging my car. The paint on these is paper thin!

Now I want to go detail my car... lol The gray skies outside are saying no to that idea though. Oh well, I will just remember it as it was in its pristine glory for the time being.

Yikes, that sucks. Sorry to hear.
I actually didn't ask what they used, specifically. I should've. I know they washed/waxed and put some type of clearcoat protectant on it, but past that, I'm not sure.
I was happy about the protectant because you're right, it's really thin. I like to tell myself it's to save weight....pfffft.

Thanks. Staggered too. The extra rubber in the back makes it handle like a completely different car.

I was at cars and coffee yesterday and we were by the 240zs, someone said they love old cars but they needed a fun car to use everyday, we thought the FRS/BRZ.. was probably the only really fun and affordable hardtop car these days, the Z has become far more expensive and this has filled that void. Nothing to hate!

Well, can't say I didn't see it coming, it's kinda hard to have a super clean car that sees heavy track usage. Hopefully most of it will buff out... but yeah, some things have given me little nicks and imperfections on the FR-S that didn't even register on any of my other cars. While I can't say I'm thrilled with the quality of the paint finish, I absolutely love everything else about it.

Not bad at all.
I was able to get the dealership to order and install the FiveAxis when I bought it.

How is it on the track? I've been wanting to join the SCCA and get this thing out there too, but I haven't had the chance.

I'm usually not a big fan or red cars, but fell in love with this car when I saw it. The car inbetween is a slammed S2K.

It's around the 200 mark; that would have been considered ample until recently.
I've never driven one, but I'd wager that it is more than sufficient. No lag.
I've can only think of three complaints about them, and that is nitpicky personal preferances.
1. Boxer motors are difficult to work on, but difficulty working on it is worth if you like it enough.
2. Still too new to be cheap. I understand the appeal of buying something new and shiny, but I like getting the most for my money with used cars.
3. Needs more rubber than prius tires. I can understand the appeal of tail-happiness, but I'd rather have as much grip as possible.

I'll co-sign all of those points.
1) I've never worked on a Boxer prior, but plan to now, so I guess I'll find out if I hate it.
2) Completely agree with point #2 as well. Buying this new was out of typical character for myself as well, but so far, I'm happy with what I got. Could change down the road.
3) Agree 100%, but the suspension on this is great. I enjoyed the tail-happiness for all of about 3 months before I put on new rubber all around and 255's on the rear. Completely changes the car.

Haven't met a car yet that was able to pull away in the corners (that's a lie there was this one lotus Elise on Hoosiers...), and on handling courses it will walk all over most cars given similarly skilled drivers. On tracks that favor power cars, it loses a lot of ground on the straights but gains it back pretty well in corners.
As far as the experience goes, its a blast! An oil cooler, good tires, and brake pads are really all it really needs for frequent track duty. Unfortunately in my case, once I started upgrading things I couldn't stop :)

The place I went had options ranging from around $150 - $250, with varying options obviously for the higher tiers. I had the highest tier because this was an x-mas gift from my wife.

Everyone I've met who owns one says great things about it.
If you can only think of 3 complaints about it, then its probably a pretty damn good car., espescially when those complaints are easily remedied.
